NDS, the digital TV technology leader in india announced that Tata Sky Direct To Home (DTH) has launched Electronic Program Guide (EPG) in National Langage Hindi.
The subscribers with Tata Sky DTH boxes can view the daily TV program guides in Hindi Language. It is same like reading the daily TV programs with the favorite Hindi newspapers. Since 40 % of the indian population speaks Hindi, this launch hits millions of peoples to use Tata Sky DTH service in the Pay-TV market.
Currently, in india no other DTH providers are using National or Regional language to show the EPG to the user. In countries like china, Japan and some European countries, the DTH providers are giving support for EPG in local languages.
Let us hope, in near future Indian subscribers can also get Regional language EPG adding to Hindi like other countries.
