IPTV Subscribers Expect To Increase In India

Expected that the IPTV subscribers in India may increase more in the near future once the system is fully launched like the DTH industry. Recently, it was studied that in the country Netherland, the number of IPTV subscribers may reach to about sixty million by the end of year 2010. India is such a big country will soon hit the IPTV industry hardly within a short period once launched in India.

DTH Service On Trains - Indian Railway's Plan To Launch

Indian Railway plans to launch Satellite Based Internet network in the trains so the passengers can browse the Internet on travel.

Train launch was made already between mumbai and ahemedbad. IPTV (internet protocol TV) will be launch as an add-on along with Internet.

Also, Indian Railway plans to launch the DTH (Direct-To-Home) service over trains. This helps the people to watch TV online while travelling in the trains.

Indian Railway has plans over taking high bandwidth network supporting IPTV solution, DTH and high speed internet voice applications.

In European countries, USA & on some eastern countries DTH & Internet services are already launched and running successfully.

Indians would experience the DTH & Internet technologies soon on Trains.

DishTV DTH Targets More Customers In India

Dish TV, the leading DTH service provider in India is planning to increase their business with more customers, Dish TV fixed a target of March 2009. Dish TV planning to add more subscribers more than five million very soon through their marketing methods.

Recently, Dish TV launched the Home Free Package which costs only Rs 100 providing more channels. Currently, Dish TV holds three million customers so far that a huge market base in India. It is measured that the Dish TV holds about seven percentage of the total Indian DTH subscribers. As the Indian DTH Industry is growing very fast more than 100 % rate, Dish TV aims to reach more subscribers soon.

Dish TV recently released the Active Astro Interactive service which provides astrological information's, horoscope information, daily tips etc. We can say Dish TV's growth rate is comparative high in India. Also, other DTH service provides like Tata Sky, BIG TV and Sun Direct are also growing faster in India and hence the competition in Indian DTH industry is high.

The regional head of Dish TV Orissa told like "orissa's growth the rate is 15,000 per month and the Dish TV's market share has been about 80 percentage".

Fujitsu HDTV SoC Launch From India

Fujitsu, India launches HDTV System on Chip - SoC that supports high quality picture compared to the normal digital TV's. The resolution of this high definition product will be 1920x1080.

Fujitsu's SoC supports both the MPEG 4 and H.264 Video decoding standards. The name of the SoC is MB86H70 and they are focusing the HDTV (high definition Tv) European market. They have the option to control the HDTV with a mouse to do the configuration of the picture parameters as a user friendly add-on.

The major goal of this Fujitsu SoC is to make a cost reduced HDTV product. Fujitsu had done some memory optimizations to reduce the overall cost of the HDTV product and hence hopes a success with their launch. This product will be shipped around october of this year.

Airtel DTH IPTV Services In India Soon

Airtel, the largest telecom provider in India will be launching the DTH and the IPTV services in India very soon by this year.

They already done some trial lanuch of the DTH and IPTV system in gurgaon and found that positive feedbacks. Airtel will be focusing the IPTV system to the broadband users and the DTH to the overall users in India. Currently, Airtel have more than 9 lakhs outlets with that they ca n easily market the selling of their DTH and IPTV products.

The Airtel's pricing will go with the package prices of the other leading DTH providers like Dish TV, Tata Sky, Sun Direct TV etc. Also, Sun Direct has the plan to launch the HD (High Definition) Channels in India and their enhancement of the business towards the north and western parts of the India. So Airtel has to take the challenge to succeed in the DTH Industry and the IPTV Industry.

Airtel has already integrated the MPEG 4 technology that uses high compression and high quality of video using with less bandwith consumption. They have partners with many of the gaints of the Digital TV industry to make their product reach the heights in India.

BIG TV - High Definition (HD) Channels In India Joining Thomson

High Definition - HD is a digital television technique with higher video resolution than the traditional TV providing high quality video content.

Reliance DTH service BIG TV planned to launch 300 High Definition (HD) channels in India for the first time. BIG TV is planning to launch 50 radio channels by the end of this year.

Reliance joining with Thomson to do the HD launch with the help of the effective Thomson's Video Head End equipment doing quality broadcast and to optimize the existing Reliance distribution network. The aim of BIG TV is to bring quality channels and more number of channels to their subscribers. This plan includes the IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) over broadband adding to the BIG TV DTH (direct to home) satellite system. This combines IPTV and DTH system controlled through the single Thomson's Head End system.

Trutt, VP of Thomson quotes, "Our solutions have been specifically developed to reply to the pain points encountered by operators when choosing their systems for delivering video - notably quality of service, return on investment and network distribution optimization for delivery of bandwidth heavy services such as HD".

Looks like Thomson had delivered Reliance BIG TV with Head End (HE) Equipments, MPEG-4 encoders (helping better compression techniques) to reduce the bandwidth consumption. It is agreed that Thomson gives technical, consulting support and services for Reliance to achieve this goal in the near future.
